This week on WhiskyCast, we'll talk with Graeme Bowie about the opening of Adelphi's Ardnamurchan Distillery on Scotland's western coast. Graeme and his team filled their first casks of spirit on Thursday, 15 months after construction began on the distillery.
We'll also find out more about Coppersea Distillery in New York, which has become the first New York State distiller to use locally-produced casks from forests in the state. This week's Whisky Photo of the Week shows a part of the distilling process that's hard to see, since most distilleries cook their mash in closed mash tuns. This photo shows the inside of one of the tuns at Speyburn Distillery, and I shot it during a visit there in 2011.
