Jameson Bold. Image courtesy Irish Distillers Pernod Ricard. This expression completes Jameson’s Deconstructed Series for the travel retail market, and is blended to let the pot still whiskies take center stage. Jameson Lively does the same with grain whiskey, and Jameson Round allows the flavors that come from the wood-whiskey interaction to dominate.

The nose is well-rounded with notes of red apples, nutmeg, subtle touches of cinnamon and vanilla, banana custard, and a touch of honey. The taste starts out sweet and smooth with butterscotch candies and a nice maltiness, then spicy notes of clove, cinnamon, nutmeg, and vanilla take over, with a hint of apple pie in the background. The finish is long, with gently fading spices and a subtle sweetness. If you’re a fan of Single Pot Still Irish whiskies like Redbreast and Powers, you’ll like this one. (December, 2016)
