Jameson Lively. Image courtesy Irish Distillers Pernod Ricard. This is part of Jameson’s Deconstructed Series for the travel retail market, and complements the Jameson Bold and Round whiskies. In this case, Lively emphasizes the flavors that grain whiskey brings to the traditional Jameson blend. The nose has notes of dried flowers, lime, herbal touches of thyme and basil, pine cones, dried peaches, and a touch of vanilla. The taste is fruity and tart with touches of lime, orange peel, powdered sugar, dried flowers, soft spices, and a hint of butterscotch candies. The finish is long with a good balance between fruity tartness and soft spices, along with a touch of butterscotch candies in the background. Nice. (December, 2016)
