This is the same pot-distilled whiskey as Woodinville’s Straight Bourbon, but with a final period of maturation time in Port wine casks. The nose has notes of dried fruits, muted spices, honey, vanilla, and a hint of oak tannins. The taste has a good balance of dried fruits and spices with clove, black pepper, a touch of apricots, plums, vanilla, and brown sugar. The finish is long and slightly tart with a good balance of fruitiness and spices. Excellent! (June, 2020)
