This is the 2017 release in the Woodford Reserve Master’s Collection series, and uses cherry wood-smoked barley instead of regular malted barley in the standard Woodford Reserve mashbill. The nose has notes of brown sugar, dark chocolate, cherry cobbler, caramel candy, toasted oak, and soft spices. The taste is full of cherry cobbler, roasted almonds, caramel candy, and a hint of baking chocolate. The finish is long with lingering spices and touches of chocolate-covered cherries.
