Widow Jane Decadence. Image courtesy Widow Jane Distillery. This blend of 10-year-old straight Kentucky and Tennessee Bourbons is finished in maple syrup barrels from New York’s Crown Maple Estate, and the nose has woody touches of charred oak and birch along with dried tobacco leaves, toasted caramel, and subtle spices. The taste has a good balance between sweetness and spice, with maple syrup, honey, and candied fruits complemented by touches of cinnamon and nuts. The finish is long with a nice maple sweetness, dry spices, and a hint of honey. (November, 2020)
