This 2024 release of Westland’s Garryana single malt differs from previous editions in that the PX Sherry casks used in the past have been replaced with Oloroso Sherry casks for a change in flavor. The nose has touches of roasted almonds, cocoa, burnt marshmallow, and subtle spices. The taste has notes of clove and cinnamon bark balanced by peach pie, burnt marshmallow, and a hint of peppermint candies. The finish is long and minty. Nice and complex! (November, 2024)
