This Canadian Whisky is matured for three years in ex-Bourbon barrels, then gets a final finishing period of around 99 days in Cabernet Sauvignon wine casks from the Gretzky Estates Winery. The nose has subtle spices balanced by notes of fresh berries, red grapes, and a hint of oak. The taste starts off smooth and fruity, then turns tart and spicy with citrus fruits, a hint of clove, fresh berries, and vanilla. The finish is long and fruity with subtle touches of lingering spice. (January, 2019)
