Type: Single Malt
Bottler: Distiller
ABV: 50%
Score: 92 Points
The barley for this Single Farm Origin release came from Richard Raftice’s farm in County Kilkenny, and the nose has a great maltiness with dried flowers, heather, honey, a subtle oakiness, and hints of red apples and apricots. The taste has a honey and barley sugar sweetness followed by a nice burst of spices and a hint of licorice balanced by dried fruits and a touch of oak. Adding a few drops of water opens up fruity notes on the palate as well, while the finish is long and slightly dry with lingering spices and subtle hints of licorice and lemon zest. Nice!
