This peated single malt from New Zealand is 7 years old, and was matured in a combination of ex-Bourbon and virgin American Oak casks. The nose has touches of wood smoke, pine resin, lemon zest, camphor, and a hint of bacon. The taste has that hint of bacon as well, along with notes of caramel candy, a hint of brine, and barley sugar to go along with a gentle smokiness. The finish is long and smoky with a hint of bacon.
