Vulson White Rhino Rye Whisky. Image courtesy Domaines des Hautes Glaces. This Rye whisky from France’s Domaine des Hautes Glaces is made from 100% malted Rye, and while not aged in oak, is allowed to rest for several months in stainless steel tanks before bottling instead of bottling straight from the still. The result is a whisky with an aromatic, grainy nose with mild spices, a hint of clove, lemon zest, and a touch of buttered toast. The taste is fruity with subtle clove and cinnamon spices that develop over time, along with hints of lemon zest and orange peel. The finish is spicy and lingering. (September, 2015)
