Virginia Distillery Company Port Cask Finished Virginia-Highland Whisky
Country: USA
Region:
Type: Blended Malt
Bottler: Virginia Distillery Company
ABV: 46%
Score: 92 Points
This blended malt from the Virginia Distillery Company blends malt whisky from an undisclosed Scottish distillery with the distillery’s own young malt whisky, then finishes it in Port wine casks. The nose is fruity and aromatic with notes of red grapes, peaches, apricots, honey, vanilla, and soft spices. The spices come alive on the palate, though…with clove and allspice notes balanced nicely by touches of apricots, peaches, and barley sugar. The finish has long-lasting spices that fade away gently. Very nice. (August, 2018)
