Virginia Distillery Company Cider Cask Finished
Country: USA
Region:
Type: Blended Whisky
Bottler: Virginia Distillery Company
ABV: 46%
Score: 88 Points
This blend takes whisky exported from Scotland with the distillery’s own malt whisky and finishes it for up to a year in casks previously used by Virginia cider producers. The nose is – as expected – fruity with notes of red apples, ginger, and apricots balanced by hints of butterscotch and linseed oil. The taste starts off smooth and fruity, followed by a good burst of spices and hints of dark fruits underneath. The finish is light, long, and fruity as hints of dark fruits fade away while lighter notes linger. (March, 2019)
