Virginia Distillery Co. Courage & Conviction Prelude
Country: USA
Region: Virginia
Type: Single Malt
Bottler: Distiller
ABV: 46%
Score: 89 Points
This is the appropriately-named 3-year-old preview of Virginia Distillery Company’s own Courage & Conviction single malt that debuts in the spring of 2020, and is a combination of ex-Bourbon, cuvée, and Sherry casks. The nose has a combination of plums, raisins, butterscotch, toffee, and hints of honey and vanilla. The taste has red apples, a hint of plums, black cherries, butterscotch, caramel, marzipan, and soft spices. The finish is long and fruity with a nice underlying spiciness. (November, 2019)
