Vintage Hallmark of St. James Glen Grant 1970. Image courtesy WhiskyBase.comThis 30-year-old Glen Grant bottling was bottled by the now-defunct Vintage Hallmark of St. James brand in 2000, and thanks go to Peter Silver for giving me a chance to taste it. The nose has fruity notes of Christmas cake and orange peel along with honey, almonds, and a touch of raisins. The taste is thick and oily with a nice bite of clove and cinnamon candies balanced by figs, raisins, orange peel, and honey. The finish is long, aromatic, and complex. Wow! (January, 2021)
