This cask-strength version of Uncle Nearest will vary by barrel in bottling strength, and the nose is aromatic with touches of charred oak, black cherries, caramel, molasses, and a hint of leather. The taste is peppery and woody with black pepper, a hint of cinnamon, charred oak, and touches of black cherries, brown sugar, and caramel. The finish is long with gently fading spices and a touch of black cherries. (September, 2023)
