Tullamore Dew Phoenix Irish Whiskey. Image courtesy William Grant & Sons. This limited-edition malt is named after the Phoenix on the town of Tullamore’s coat of arms, which was added after a fire in 1875 that destroyed much of the town.

The nose is creamy and complex, yet still smooth with hints of malt, brown sugar, ginger, and a slight grassiness. The taste is full and rich with a good balance of malt, cinnamon, ginger, allspice and honey. The finish is long and smooth. Excellent. (September, 2013)
