Tomatin Cask Strength. Image courtesy Tomatin Distillery. This Highland single malt is matured in a combination of ex-Oloroso Sherry and first-fill ex-Bourbon barrels, and the nose is fruity with notes of peaches, red apples, sandalwood, vanilla, and a touch of mango. The taste is fruity, vibrant, and well-balanced with peaches, orange peel, red apples, ginger, a hint of white pepper, mango, and vanilla. The finish is medium-length and slightly dry with lingering fruitiness. Nice. (December, 2017)
