Tomatin 36. Image courtesy Tomatin Distillery. This Highland single malt was matured in a combination of ex-Bourbon barrels and Oloroso Sherry butts, and the nose has notes of cooked fruits with touches of clove, cardamom, vanilla, orange marmalade, and gingerbreads. The taste has a good balance of fruitiness and spices with orange marmalade complementing subtle touches of clove, cardamom, and crystallized ginger along with a hint of vanilla custard. The finish is long with lingering fruity touches and subtle spices. Outstanding! (November, 2018)
