Tomatin 1995. Image courtesy Tomatin Distillery. This Highland single malt spent its final three years of maturation in ex-Oloroso Sherry hogshead casks and it shows on the nose, with notes of dried apricots, banana chips, Christmas cake, and a hint of toffee. The taste is dry with a good oakiness and touches of plums, raisins, ginger, allspice, and cocoa beans. The finish is dry with muted spices, dried fruits, and a good oakiness. (December, 2017)
