The Tyrconnell 16 Year Old Oloroso & Moscatel Cask Finish
Country: Ireland
Region:
Type: Single Malt
Bottler: Distiller
ABV: 46%
Score: 92 Points
This is the third in a series of 16-year-old single malts from The Tyrconnell, but is unique in that it’s finished in barrels that were seasoned first with Oloroso Sherry and then with Moscatel wine. The nose has notes of plums, apricots, clover honey, and vanilla. The taste is complex, spicy and tart with white pepper, mango, papaya, apricots, honey, and a hint of coconut. The finish is long and fades away gently with a nice fruitiness and hints of spice. Very nice. (March, 2019)
