The Sexton Irish Single Malt. Image courtesy Proximo Spirits. This Irish single malt comes from Proximo Spirits, the U.S. arm of Becle, which is owned by Mexico’s Beckmann family and counts Bushmills and Jose Cuervo among its assets. While it’s not specified, it’s a good bet the whiskey itself comes from Bushmills, and the nose has notes of malt and caramel candy, honey, butterscotch, and dried flowers. The taste is light and floral at first, with good spices that develop slowly and hints of honey and caramel candy in the background. The finish is long with lingering spices and a nice balance.
