The Macallan Flask Edition
Country: Scotland
Region: Speyside
Type: Single Malt
Bottler: Distiller
ABV: 43%
Score: 90 Points
This 22-year-old limited edition Macallan is almost as rare as the custom Oakley-made flask it comes with. The nose has notes of dried oranges and apples, honey, and hints of figs and vanilla. The taste starts off sweet and dry with an aromatic oakiness that develops along with hints of orange peel, apples, pears, and honey notes. The finish is dry and short, but balanced well with softly fading fruit notes. The complexity develops late, but still a very interesting malt. (March, 2013)
