The Macallan Double Cask 15 Years Old
Country: Scotland
Region: Speyside
Type: Single Malt
Bottler: Distiller
ABV: 43%
Score: 93 Points
The Macallan’s Double Cask expressions are matured in a combination of European and American Oak, and the 15-year-old has a very delicate and complex nose with notes of dried apricots and apple chips, a hint of oak, toffee, honey, and cocoa powder. The taste has a good oakiness along with raisins, orange peel, butterscotch, ginger and other baking spices, vanilla, and a touch of tropical fruits in the background. The finish is creamy and soothing with a lingering touch of ginger and tropical fruits, caramel, and a hint of vanilla. Nice! (August, 2020)
