The Macallan 2008 Easter Elchies Cask Selection
Country: Scotland
Region: Speyside
Type: Single Malt
Bottler: Distiller
ABV: 59.6%
Score: 91 Points
The cask-strength Easter Elchies Cask Selection is only available at The Macallan’s distillery shop, and the 2008 edition was bottled from ex-Sherry hogsheads filled in 1995 and 1996. The nose is rich and aromatic with oak, a slight hint of sulfur, raisins, baked orange peels, and Christmas cake. The taste is intense, dry, mouth-puckering, and fruity with baked oranges, Demerara sugar, molasses, prunes, raisins, red grapes, and a touch of oak. The finish is long, dry, and astringent.
