Tom's Blend No. 1. Image courtesy The Last Drop Distillers. This 18-year-old blend was created to honor Last Drop Distillers co-founder and legendary whisky blender Tom Jago, and it may be the finest whisky you’ll probably never get to taste. That’s because it wasn’t created for sale, but is the whiskey The Last Drop pours exclusively at its special events because of the extreme rarity of its regular releases. The nose has notes of hazelnut, crème brûlée, toffee, honey, molasses, and not a whiff of spices. The taste is vibrant, fruity, and luscious with tropical fruits, hints of spice, soft oak, and a touch of dried flowers in the background with just a hint of smokiness and an amazing balance. The finish dances on the tongue effervescently with touches of fruit and spice. Outstanding! (October, 2018)
