Release number 36 for The Last Drop Distillers comes from six casks filled on November 11, 1968 at Tomintoul Distillery. Those casks were allowed to mature until early 2022, when they were combined into a single Amoroso Sherry cask for the final 20 months of maturation. The nose has touches of plums, raisins, dried fruits, and a hint of toffee. The taste is full of ripe fruits, candy apples, baking spices, toffee, and sweet oak. The finish is long with hints of dried flowers, oak, and apples. Overall, a vibrant and outstanding dram! (May, 2024)
