Release number 34 from The Last Drop Distillers is a 40-year-old Auchentoshan single malt. The whisky is vibrant and fresh despite its age, with a nose full of Christmas cake, black cherries, hazelnut, spices, and oak. The taste has notes of black cherries, raisin bread, soft spices, a hint of oak, and dried flowers. The finish is long and gentle with hints of licorice and raisins. Outstanding! (May, 2024)
