The John Milroy Selection Glen Garioch 24 Years Old. Image courtesy Spirit Imports. This single cask bottling was distilled in 1992 and spent 24 years in a refill hogshead cask before it was bottled by Berry Bros. & Rudd in 2017. The nose has a hint of peat smoke – it comes from the days when Glen Garioch used peated malt, along with soft spices, salted caramel, and butterscotch. The taste is smoky and spicy with cinnamon candies, a hint of spearmint, honey, butterscotch, and vanilla. The finish is long with gently fading spices, butterscotch, and salted caramel. Nice complexity and balance! (May, 2018)
