The Dalmore 1980 Single Cask #158. Image courtesy WhiskyBase.com.This 22-year-old single cask Dalmore was filled in January of 1980 and bottled after 22 years in December of 2002 while still retaining a bottling strength of 60.8% ABV. The nose is rich with notes of figs, dates, roasted almonds, black cherries, honey, and brown sugar. The taste is vibrant and fruity with a nice balance of figs, dates, Christmas cake, and a hint of spearmint that builds up slowly. The finish is long and gentle with dried fruits and touches of oak and spearmint. Thanks to Peter Silver for giving me a chance to taste this one! (January, 2021)
