That Boutique-y Whisky Company Islay #2. Image courtesy That Boutique-y Whisky Company/Atom Brands. This is a 25-year-old single malt from an undisclosed Islay distillery. The nose is peaty and slightly medicinal with touches of heather, straw, honey, and a good maltiness. The taste is spicy, smoky, and intense with a strong peatiness, a medicinal touch of iodine, creosote, brine, a hint of smoked salmon, heather, and honey. The finish is long and peaty with a sweet undertone and just a hint of brine. Excellent! (March, 2019)
