That Boutique-y Whisky Company Caledonian 33 Batch #1
Country: Scotland
Region:
Type: Single Grain
Bottler: That Boutique-y Whisky Company
ABV: 50.3%
Score: 89 Points
The Caledonian grain whisky distillery in Edinburgh closed in 1988, and the only thing remaining of the distillery is its giant smokestack…along with the whisky that turns up once in a while. This is one of those rare occasions, with a 33-year-old single cask bottling of Caledonian single grain from Maverick Drinks. The nose is light and fruity with notes of green apples and peaches, along with hints of ginger and lemon zest. The taste is crisp and tart with lemon zest, ginger, green apples, and a hint of papaya. The finish is long, fruity, and fades away gently. Very nice! (October, 2017)
