Teeling Vintage Reserve Collection 24 Year Old. Image courtesy Teeling Whiskey Company. This is one of the oldest Irish single malt whiskies available, and was originally matured in ex-Bourbon barrels before being finished in Sauternes wine casks. The nose has notes of straw, grass clippings, dried leaves, apricot, green grapes, and a touch of nougat. The taste is rich and well-balanced with fig, apricot, and clover honey notes with a touch of sea salt chocolate that comes out late and lasts through the long, smoothly fading finish with a touch of clover honey. Very nice. (February, 2017)
