Teeling Single Pot Still 2019 Release. Image courtesy Teeling Whiskey Company. This is the first major release of Teeling’s own single pot still whiskey from its distillery in Dublin’s Newmarket Square following a series of three test batches in late 2018 and early 2019, and uses 3 and 4-year-old whiskey matured in a combination of virgin American Oak, first-fill ex-Bourbon barrels, and Oloroso Sherry casks. The nose has notes of honey, vanilla, butterscotch, muted spices, and dried flowers. The taste has traditional pot still spiciness with clove, cinnamon, and allspice balanced well with honey, vanilla, and butterscotch sweetness in the background. The finish is long and smooth with gently fading spices and touches of honey and vanilla. (October, 2019)
