Suntory AO World Whisky. Image courtesy Beam Suntory. While this “world whisky” comes from Suntory in Japan, it’s an ambitious blend of whiskies created by Shinji Fukuyo from Beam Suntory distilleries in Japan, Canada, Scotland, Ireland, and the United States. The nose has notes of sawdust, honey, vanilla, dried flowers, and a hint of pine needles. The taste has an excellent balance of subtle spices with honey, butterscotch, and a touch of pine needles, while the finish lingers nicely with gently fading spices and hints of honey and butterscotch. Very nice! (November, 2020)
