Stronachie 12

Country: Scotland

Region: Highlands

Type: Single Malt

Bottler: A. Dewar Rattray

ABV: 43%

Score: 89 Points

The original Stronachie distillery was dismantled in the 1920’s, but the name lives on in this single malt distilled at Benrinnes. The nose is slightly oaky, with notes of vanilla, dried apricots, hazelnut, and malty with a hint of freshly baked bread. The taste is smooth and malty, with a touch of peat balancing notes of dried fruits, figs, and Christmas cake. The peat comes out to play on the finish, but still remains very smooth. An excellent dram!
