Strathisla-Glenlivet 1964
Country: Scotland
Region: Speyside
Type: Single Malt
Bottler: Gordon & MacPhail
ABV: 43%
Score: 94 Points
This malt spent 42 years in a first-fill sherry cask, and has the color of a copper penny. The nose is fresh and floral, with heather and grassy notes as well as figs, raisins, and apricots. The fruits come out in the taste, and water just explodes the sweetness and vibrancy of this malt. The finish reminds me of peach pie with a graham cracker crust.
