Stoll & Wolfe Rye Whiskey. Image courtesy Stoll & Wolfe Distillery. This whiskey was distilled by veteran distiller Dick Stoll in Virginia while the Stoll & Wolfe Distillery was being constructed in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, and was matured in Pennsylvania for 20 months. The nose is aromatic and spicy with hints of clove, allspice, oak, cedar pencil shavings, honey, and vanilla. The taste is dry and woody with spices that develop quickly with great clove and allspice notes, honey, vanilla, oak tannins, and a hint of sandalwood in the background. The finish is long and woody with gently fading spices. An excellent whiskey! (April, 2018)
