Springbank 16 Local Barley
Country: Scotland
Region: Campbeltown
Type: Single Malt
Bottler: Distiller
ABV: 54.3%
Score: 91 Points
This single malt was distilled in 1999 from barley grown at the Low Machrimore farm just south of Campbeltown, and the nose is malty with a hint of brine, smoked salmon, wet beach sand, heather, and a hint of driftwood smoke. The taste is thick, salty, and spicy with black pepper, sea salt, hints of vanilla, honey, and dried flowers underneath. The finish is long, briny, and spicy. Very nice! (January, 2o16)
