Speyburn Arranta Casks
Country: Scotland
Region: Speyside
Type: Single Malt
Bottler: Distiller
ABV: 46%
Score: 89 Points
Arranta comes from the Gaelic term for “intrepid and daring,” and this US-exclusive Speyburn bottling is matured in first-fill ex-Bourbon casks. The nose is fruity and sweet with notes of orange peel, peaches, baked apples, and a hint of allspice. The taste is fruity and spicy with a good balance of orange peel, peaches, white pepper, a hint of clove, and a touch of vanilla in the background. The finish is long with a good balance of citrus tartness and lingering spices. (January, 2017)
