Single Malts of Scotland Ardbeg 19 Year Old Scotch Whisky. Image courtesy Speciality Drinks. This bottling from the Speciality Drinks Single Malts of Scotland range was distilled in 2001, and spent its maturation split between a refill cask and an ex-Bourbon barrel. The nose has a wonderful balance of charred oak, a hint of peat smoke, apple cobbler, and gentle spices. The taste is sweet at first with touches of toasted caramel, brown sugar, and a hint of toffee followed by a nice burst of peat and tangy barbecue sauce. The finish is very long, smoky,  and nutty with a touch of tangy fruits. Excellent! (January, 2021)
