Single Malts of Scotland Ardbeg 19
Country: Scotland
Region: Islay
Type: Single Malt
Bottler: Speciality Drinks
ABV: 51.8%
Score: 94 Points
This bottling from the Speciality Drinks Single Malts of Scotland range was distilled in 2001, and spent its maturation split between a refill cask and an ex-Bourbon barrel. The nose has a wonderful balance of charred oak, a hint of peat smoke, apple cobbler, and gentle spices. The taste is sweet at first with touches of toasted caramel, brown sugar, and a hint of toffee followed by a nice burst of peat and tangy barbecue sauce. The finish is very long, smoky, and nutty with a touch of tangy fruits. Excellent! (January, 2021)
