Single Cask Nation Glen Elgin 18
Country: Scotland
Region: Speyside
Type: Single Malt
Bottler: Single Cask Nation/Jewish Whisky Company
ABV: 54.9%
Score: 90 Points
This Speyside single malt was matured in a refill ex-Bourbon hogshead cask before it was bottled for Single Cask Nation in the spring of 2014. The nose has notes of linseed oil, lemon zest, a nice maltiness, and just a hint of caramel candy. The taste is mouth-puckering and spicy with a subtle sweetness in the background provided by hints of anise, linseed oil, barley sugar, and honey. The finish is long, dry, and astringent with lingering spices that fade away slowly. (November, 2019)
