Shelter Point Double Barreled Single Malt Whisky. Image courtesy Shelter Point Distillery. This Canadian single malt from Vancouver Island’s Shelter Point Distillery is finished in French Oak wine casks from one of the wineries near the distillery, and the nose is aromatic with dark fruits, oak tannins, hints of baking spices, and a touch of cedar. The taste is thick and slightly dry at first, with a good spicy buildup of white pepper, oak tannins, honey, plums, and raisins. The finish is long and dry with a touch of oak. Very nice!
