Type: Triticale Whiskey

Bottler: Distiller

ABV: 50%

Score: 88 Points

Triticale is a hybrid between rye and wheat, and the folks at San Antonio’s Maverick Distilling filled several barrels with triticale whiskey four years ago. This is the oldest released so far, a four-year-old Bottled in Bond single barrel whiskey. The nose has baking spices, molasses cookies, and honey, while the taste is spicy with cinnamon, clove, and chili powder notes balanced by a touch of cherries, molasses cookies, honey, and butterscotch. The finish is dry with lingering spices. (December, 2023)
