This Sagamore Spirit rye comes from a blend of sourced straight rye whiskies finished in Port and red wine casks. The nose is very aromatic with dried fruits, muted spices, honey, vanilla, chocolate fudge, and a touch of red grapes. The taste is complex and well-rounded with nice clove and allspice notes, a slight fruity tartness, chocolate fudge, and a hint of brandy leading into the finish. The finish is nice and long, with spices that fade away gently, a hint of brandy, and dried fruits. (May, 2018)
