Sagamore Spirit Rye Barrel Select Julio’s Liquors Edition
Country: USA
Region:
Type: Rye Whiskey
Bottler: Sagamore Spirit
ABV: 47.5%
Score: 90 Points
This Sagamore Spirit bottling was an exclusive for the Loch & Key Society at Julio’s Liquors in Westborough, Massachusetts, and is a blend of 85% high-rye and 15% low-rye MGP whiskey cut with water from the spring at Sagamore Farm near Baltimore. The nose is soft and gentle, but has distinctive rye whiskey notes of clove, allspice, and peppercorns with a good balance of honey, vanilla, and caramel candy notes. The palate has a smooth, gradual buildup of spices with a nice balance of clove, allspice, and a hint of cinnamon with notes of honey, vanilla, and caramel candy in the background. The finish is medium-length and fades away gently. (April, 2018)
