Country: Australia

Region: Tasmania

Type: Single Malt

Bottler: Rare Hare Spirits

ABV: 42%

Score: 90 Points

This 20-year-old Australian single malt from Tasmania’s Hellyers Road Distillery is finished in Port wine casks, and the nose has notes of grape jam, stewed prunes, raisins, dried tropical fruits, and a hint of oak. The taste is spicy with black pepper and allspice notes, red grapes, and a touch of raisins in the background. The finish is long and spicy. Overall, the spice overwhelms the palate, and it could be better-balanced. (May, 2024)
