Powers 16 Celtic Whiskey Shop Single Cask. Image courtesy Celtic Whiskey Shop. This single cask Powers was bottled exclusively for Dublin’s Celtic Whiskey Shop after 16 years in a first-fill ex-Bourbon cask. The nose is very complex and well-balanced for a single cask bottling and has good spices along with honey, vanilla, caramel candy, chocolate fudge, and marzipan. The taste is thick and spicy with clove, cinnamon, and white pepper balanced nicely by subtle honey sweetness and touches of nougat, marzipan, and chocolate fudge. The finish is very, very long with spices that take forever to fade and subtle sweetness underneath. Excellent! (April, 2018)
