This Canadian Whisky from Corby’s Northern Border Collection annual series of special releases is finished in ex-Oloroso Sherry casks. The nose is aromatic with notes of dark fruits, a hint of figs, brown sugar, and caramel with a good oakiness and touches of vanilla, baking spices, and a slight nuttiness. The taste has good spicy notes of clove and peppercorns along with honey, vanilla, and hints of toffee, crème brûlée, and almonds in the background. The finish is long with lingering spices and hints of honey, almonds, and toffee. Very nice! (January, 2020)
